India and China have taken fast steps towards improving their stressful relations. The Government of India is working towards starting a visa for Chinese tourists. According to a report by news agency Reuters, India is going to re -release tourist visas for Chinese tourists after five years. The news agency Reuters, quoting the Indian Embassy in Beijing, have given this information. According to the report, visas will be released again for Chinese tourists from July 24. China’s official media Global Times has shared a post shared on the Weibo platform by the Chinese Indian Embassy.
The post released by the Indian Embassy said that “Since 24 July 2025, Chinese citizens can apply for tourist visas to come to India. They first have to fill the online visa application form on the web link and take a print out, and then take an appointment on the web link.
India opened the door to China tourists
This step has been taken by the Government of India at a time when the two countries are constantly interacting to normalize the relationship. In the year 2020, India banned all tourism visas due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. But in April 2022, IATA (International Air Transport Association) issued a notice saying that tourist visas of Chinese citizens would not be valid yet. India took the step when China refused to give a visa to 22,000 Indian students to come back to the country. India then stopped giving visas to Chinese tourists. But for the last few months, there has been a gradual improvement in relations between India and China.
The forces of both countries have launched behind from Depsang and Demchok areas of Eastern Ladakh. For the last four years, this tension had been constant and there was a danger of war at any time. The return of soldiers, the confidence between the two countries was considered a major step towards restoration. Apart from this, in January 2025, flying aircraft between India and China also started. The decision came to light after India’s foreign secretary Vikram Egypt’s visit to China, where both sides had several positive talks at the diplomatic level. During this visit, it was also decided that Kailash Mansarovar Yatra for Indian pilgrims will also be resumed from this year. Apart from this, recently India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also visited China, where he attended a meeting of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
