Big accident in Kadiana drain: bus buried in debris, passengers stirred

In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains have been wreaking havoc for the last few days, especially in the district Sirmaur, the situation remains serious. Landslides have occurred in many places due to torrential rains continuously from night, causing roads to close and general life has been badly affected.

15 passengers stuck in a private bus left narrowly
On Monday morning, a major accident was averted on the Sangah-Chahana road of Sri Renukaji assembly constituency. A private bus got stuck due to large quantity of debris in Kadiana drain. About 15 passengers were present in the bus. Thankfully, the driver and the operator acted wisely and carefully took the passengers out of the door of the emergency and the driver. The amount of debris was so high that the bus could not even move from its place and the doors on the side of the riders were badly trapped in the rubble, which impossible to open them. During this time, the passengers in the bus were in a lot of panic.

Due to rain, landslides have also come to light on National Highway 707 and 907-A. Paonta Sahib-Shilai-Gumma National Highway 707 of District Sirmaur was closed once again due to heavy landslides in the northern near Shillai. Large rocks fall on the road, there has been a long jam of vehicles on both sides. Similarly, Nahan-Kumarhatti National Highway 907-A has also been interrupted due to heavy landslides at Sadna Ghat. Traffic has collapsed badly due to the closure of these important roads.

According to the Public Works Department, more than 20 roads have been blocked due to the continuous rains in the district Sirmaur. The Sangrah-Paler-Rajgarh road under Sri Renukaji assembly constituency is also closed due to landslides. The closure of roads is not only causing trouble to the common people, but the employees going to school, college and office are also facing huge difficulties.

The continuous rains have also affected the crops of farmers. Due to torrential rains for the last several days, important crops like capsicum and tomato have been wasted to a great extent, due to which farmers are facing huge economic losses. Efforts are being made by the administration to open roads as soon as possible and speed up relief operations.
