Churn on monsoon session: All -party meeting begins, JP Nadda presiding

The government has called an all -party meeting today (20 July) before the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament. The meeting started at 11:00 am in the main committee room of Parliament House Annexe. Union Minister JP Nadda is presiding over the all -party meeting. In this meeting, the government is talking to all political parties about running smooth operations of both houses of Parliament. The Central Government is planning to introduce 8 Bills in this session.

Leaders of various political parties are participating in this meeting, where the government is represented by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and his junior minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. Gaurav Gogoi and Jairam Ramesh of Congress, Supriya Sule of NCP-Sharad Pawar, T.R. Sand and RPI (A) Leader and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale are also attending the meeting. This monsoon session will start from July 21 and run till August 21, which will have a total of 21 meetings. Significantly, no meeting has been scheduled between August 12 and August 18.

After attending the all -party meeting, AAP MP Sanjay Singh says, I am going to another important meeting with permission from JP Nadda, who is presiding over the all -party meeting. The issue I have raised by my party is that the US President is repeatedly saying that he has a ceasefire in the name of a trade deal, the government should clarify it. Slums were broken in Delhi and I have raised this issue and the government should stop it. This exercise of SIR in Bihar should stop… If the government does not answer, then we will raise questions inside and outside the House.

Earlier, while addressing the media, Minister Rijiju had said that the government is fully prepared to discuss important national affairs and pending bills. He said, Parliament is about to begin. Whatever issue comes in Parliament, we will hear it. Yesterday I had a very good meeting with Kharge ji and Rahul ji. I keep holding regular meetings with leaders of other opposition parties. As a parliamentary minister, it is my responsibility to maintain coordination with all.

Central government will introduce eight new bills
The Central Government has planned to introduce a total of eight new Bills in the monsoon session starting on Monday (21 July 2025), including a bill related to conservation and safety of landlords and land. Bills proposed for the monsoon session include the National Sports Administration Bill, Land-Heritage Site and Land Activities (Protection and Maintenance) Bill, Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill and National Doping (Amendment) Bill.
