Every citizen should get legal rights for annual health checkup: Raghav Chadha

New Delhi
Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has demanded from the government that every citizen should be given legal right to health check -up every year. In the monsoon session of Rajya Sabha, Raghav Chadha said that after Kovid-19 epidemic, cases of heart attacks and other diseases are increasing rapidly in the country.
He wrote on the social media platform X, “I demanded in Parliament that every citizen should get legal right to get health checkups every year.” “Heart diseases and other health problems have increased greatly after Kovid. If the time of diseases is detected in time, many people can be saved.”
He said that many developed countries offer free health checkups to their citizens every year, which the government spends. Then why can’t this happen in India? Raghav Chadha said, “Treatment and health services should not be only for the rich. All people should get regular check -up facilities, whether they are poor or rich.”
He gave a slogan – “If there is an investigation, there is life.”
His comment has come at a time when many young and healthy -looking people have also seen sudden heart attacks, strokes and other serious diseases.
More than 70 percent of the deaths occurring every year are caused by non-communicable diseases like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, blood pressure and lung disease etc.
If there is regular checkup of these diseases, then the health problems of the country can be prevented to a great extent.
The government launched a nationwide NCD investigation campaign earlier this year, which aims to check all people of 30 years and above for the treatment of non-communicable diseases like oral, breast and cervical cancer along with diabetes and blood pressure. The investigation campaign was run at Ayushman Arogya Temple and other health centers and also met its 89.7 percent target.
