Ghaziabad
Many revelations are being made about Swayambhu diplomat Harshvardhan Jain, who runs fake embassy of fictional countries like West Artica, Saborga, Poulvia, Londonia, in its rented house just 35 km from Delhi. The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police arrested the accused from Kavinagar area of Ghaziabad.
The accused used to call himself a consul or ambassador of these fictional countries and used to make money from people by promising to get a job and business deal abroad. His network of cheating was active for seven years.
STF arrested Harshvardhan from his rented house and seized Rs 44.7 lakh cash, 34 rubber stamps, foreign currency, 12 fake diplomatic passports, 18 fake diplomatic number plates and four luxury vehicles.
Wire was also connected to Chandraswami and weapon dealer
According to the police, Harshvardhan Jain has had an old relationship with the controversial religious leader and tantric Chandraswamy and international weapon smuggler Adnan Khashogi. In 2011 too, a case of illegal satellite phone was registered at Kavinagar police station.
Tantric Chandraswamy, who is considered close to former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, has a deep connection with controversies. The shadow of many scams that came up during the Narasimha Rao government had also reached Chandraswami. The situation became such that he also had to go behind the bars of the jail.
Harshvardhan also used pictures edited with PM, President and other celebrities so that people can affect and cheat. The seal, press card, and seal of various countries have also been recovered from him.
Fraud racket used to run in the name of job and hawking
STF SSP Sushil Ghule said in an official statement that Jain was taking the form of ambassadors from many countries and was implicating people by making false promises of jobs and contact abroad. He further said, “His main objective was to use these fake identities to be broke into brokerage, claim to get jobs abroad and run hawala racket through fake companies.”
He was also running a racket of hawala business and brokerage under the guise of fake embassy. Apart from the case registered in Kavinagar police station in 2011, a new FIR has been registered against him once again. STF Inspector Sachin Kumar told PTI that Jain’s fake embassy also had “flags of these countries”, which were regularly hoisted in the campus to give a realization of the real consulate.
