Five people of the same family allegedly died by consuming poison in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Saturday. The dead include husband and wife of two daughters and a son. Police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported and sent the bodies and sent it for postmortem. The reason for the collective suicide is not yet known. The police is investigating the matter The SP of Ahmedabad Rural said that five members of the same family committed suicide by drinking poisonous fluids in a rented house in Bavla. The cause of suicide is yet to be known. All were originally from Dholaka. The deceased have been identified as Vipul Vaghela (32), his wife Sonal (26) and his children Kareena (11), Mayur (8) and Rajkumari (5). The bodies have been sent to the local hospital for postmortem.
Police suspect collective suicide
According to the language, the bodies of a couple and their three children were recovered from their house in Ahmedabad district late on Saturday night. Police suspect that this is a case of collective suicide. Superintendent of Police Ahmedabad (Rural) Om Prakash Jat said that the incident happened in Bagodara village and the police came to know about it at around 2 pm. He said that prima facie it seems that he has committed suicide by consuming poison. He said that investigation is on to find out the reasons behind the move.
The official said, “A man, his wife and three of his children died by consuming poison in their rented house in Bagodara. The person used to live by driving an auto-rickshaw and the reason behind the move taken by the family is not yet clear. ”The police and forensic teams are gathering evidence along with searching the house. Along with this, people around are also questioning.

8 June 2025: Earlier, a couple committed suicide by jumping into the Narmada canal near Kadhi town with their 9 -year -old son due to financial constraints in Mehsana district of Gujarat. The dead included 38 -year -old Dharmesh Panchal, 36 -year -old his wife Urmila and 9 -year -old son Prakash. The police also recovered a suicide note from Dharmesh’s car. According to the police, the family was under stress due to economic crisis.
13 April 2025: A farmer had poisoned his wife and three children at night in Wadali town of Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. The husband and wife died during treatment. The Vadali police station had said that the couple, their two sons and a daughter started vomiting on Saturday morning, after which the neighbors called an ambulance and the five family members were taken to a private hospital for treatment. From there he was referred to the Civil Hospital in Himmatnagar, where the farmer died in the evening and his wife died on Sunday morning. The deceased were identified as Vinu Sagar (42) and his wife Kokilaben (40).
