The book launch of former BJP state president Satish Poonia’s work titled ‘Agnipath Nahi Janpath (From Dialogue to Struggle)’ took place on Sunday in the capital, merging political discourse with humor. The event featured prominent figures such as former opposition leader Rajendra Rathore, Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria, BJP state president Madan Rathore, and Congress leader Tikaram Julie, all sharing the stage. Amidst laughter, the leaders exchanged political jabs, while Kataria expressed his concerns regarding the diminishing dignity of the assembly.

During the event held at the Constitution Club, Governor Kataria remarked on the disheartening nature of public voices being drowned out amid the noise in the assembly. He emphasized that the primary duty of elected representatives is towards the public, stating that public satisfaction should take precedence over mere satisfaction within the house.

Satish Poonia shared that his book encapsulates experiences from his time as a legislator, both inside and outside the assembly. He humorously recalled a moment with Bhilwara district chief Varji Bai Bhil, who, upon receiving her ticket, asked, ‘Who will take care of my goats now?’
A Memorable Moment
The event reached a humorous peak when former opposition leader Rajendra Rathore quipped, ‘A snake bit me and Satish Poonia on the political ladder.’ In response, BJP state president Madan Rathore smiled and remarked, ‘I must have been bitten too.’ Congress leader Tikaram Julie added with laughter, ‘If it were in the assembly, it would have taken longer to reveal the names.’

The event was chaired by Varji Bai Bhil, with numerous ministers, MPs, MLAs, and a large audience in attendance. Additionally, five young talents who made significant contributions to literature and social fields were honored during the ceremony.
