The US has given a strong warning to Russia that if it does not take concrete steps towards peace talks to end the Ukraine War, new restrictions will be imposed on it. This statement was made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. Rubio said, “We have indicated that Russia is preparing its terms in writing for the ceasefire, which can open the path of further conversation. We are waiting for those proposals, so that Putin’s real intentions can be revealed.”
If Russia will defraud then action is decided
When Rubio was asked if Russia ignores the peace process, would America impose further ban on it, he said in clear words, “If it has been proved that Russia only wants to continue war and is not interested in talks, then new restrictions will be our next steps.”
President Trump is currently restraining
Rubio also said that President Donald Trump still wants to avoid any kind of ban threats, so that diplomatic dialogue is not affected. He said, “The President believes that if we start threatening in advance, Russia can withdraw from the talks.”
Putin-Trump’s two-hour important conversation
Rubio revealed that recently there was a two -hour long phone call between President Trump and Putin. Following this conversation, Russia and Ukraine have agreed to start immediate ceasefire and peace talks.
Vatican will host peace talks
Meanwhile, the Vatican has taken a new initiative saying that it is ready to host these possible dialogues. The newly elected Pope Leo XIV is ready for this. The proposal came at a time when the previous dialogue in Istanbul had failed, although Russia and Ukraine had compromised on the exchange of prisoners.
