After fulfilling the responsibility of protecting the country’s pride and shan as a soldier, the former firemen returning to civil life can get a horizontal reservation of 10 percent in government services in Uttarakhand. For the welfare and rehabilitation of the fire, the Uttarakhand government is preparing to provide horizontal reservation facility in the recruitment of various departments. The Department of Personnel has prepared its proposal and sent the legislative department for consultation.
This was confirmed by a senior official of the Personnel Department on Sunday. He told ‘Hindustan’ that the reservation proposal was going on for some time. After legislative consultation, the reservation proposal will be sent to the cabinet for approval. According to sources, it has been recommended to provide reservation in uniformed services to the firemen.
There are several departments including police as well as transport, excise, forest department in Uttarakhand. Agniveer can perform better in enforcement services due to being trained from the army. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced last year that after completing the service of the fire, concrete arrangements would be made for their adjustment, rehabilitation. Due to this, the youth who are dedicated to the service of the country will not have to worry for employment, rehabilitation after completing the service period.
Committee has given report
After the announcement of the Chief Minister, the government formed a high level committee under the chairmanship of Sainik Welfare Secretary Deepender Chaudhary. This committee has also handed over its report to the government. In this, it has been recommended to the firemen to exempt maximum age limit in government services according to the number of years of service period in the army, the former firefighters wishing to increase educational qualifications after returning to the seats of the state educational institutions to a fixed limit on the seats of the state educational institutions and also prioritize the state’s self -employment and loan schemes.
The plan started in the year 2022
In the year 2022, the Central Government launched the Agneepath scheme for recruitment in the army. The youth admitted under this scheme are known as Agniveer. This service is four years old. In this, 25 percent of the firemen also get an opportunity to be permanent in the army. The scheme started in the year 2022. On completion of four years, Agniveer will start returning to civil life from the year 2026.
There is also 20 % reservation in UP
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government has also given 20 percent horizontal reservation to the fire in the state police force. He has also been given a discount of 3 years in age. Apart from this, reservation has been announced to Agnivirs in Rajasthan and Haryana. Apart from this, they will also be given the benefit of reservation in many central forces.
