Increased legal difficulties on Raj Thackeray: petition seeking FIR in High Court for inciting violence

Mumbai
A PIL has been filed against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray in the Bombay High Court, accusing him of inciting violence against Hindi speaking people and spreading hatred on the basis of language. The petition demands a demand to register an FIR against Thackeray and his party workers. The petition was filed on behalf of advocate Ghanshyam Upadhyay on Saturday.

Raj Thackeray on Friday warned Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that if Hindi language was made compulsory in the state by class 1-5, we will not hesitate to shut down the school. Addressing a rally, he called upon the people of Maharashtra to thwart any scheme of the government to be vigilant and impose Hindi. Earlier, MNS workers had assaulted a local shopkeeper, as he refused to talk in Marathi. The Bharatiya Janata Party -led government withdrew two orders that made Hindi compulsory in primary schools after strict opposition.

Raj Thackeray accused of imposing Hindi
However, CM Fadnavis stressed on Thursday that the government will definitely implement the triple policy, but the Hindi class should be taught or from class five… it will decide the committee constituted to study the issue. In his speech, Raj Thackeray challenged Fadnavis to impose Hindi. He said, ‘When he tried once, we had closed shops. Now if Hindi is imposed, we will not hesitate to close the school. The MNS chief said that it is unfortunate that the Chief Minister of Maharashtra is trying to make Hindi mandatory. Down-dobe statement
Raj Thackeray said that Hindi is only 200 years old, while the history of Marathi is 2500-3000 years old. He alleged that when the migrants of Bihar were beaten and driven in Gujarat, it did not become an issue, but a small incident in Maharashtra becomes a national issue. The MNS chief strongly criticized BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for his ‘Patkatak-Ke Marage’ comment and challenged him to come to Mumbai. Thackeray said, “Dubo-dubo will kill.” He also referred to the alleged Marathi stance of Morarji Desai and Vallabhbhai Patel after independence. Raj Thackeray said that Maharashtra people should insist on speaking in Marathi everywhere in the state and others should also motivate them to speak this language. Efforts are being made to impose Hindi under the guise of Hindutva.
