Kolkata: On Sunday, an incident at the Bardhaman railway station in West Bengal resulted in injuries to three individuals when a woman lost her footing on a foot overbridge, causing a chain reaction that led to two others falling as well, according to an official from Eastern Railway.

The injured parties were promptly transported to a government hospital for medical attention.

The railway official clarified that the situation did not resemble a stampede. The woman lost her balance while descending the foot overbridge towards platform number 4, leading to her fall on the stairs.

As she fell, two nearby individuals also tumbled down the stairs.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and railway staff present on the platform quickly responded to assist the victims.

The three individuals were subsequently taken to Bardhaman Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.
