The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently issued a notice about it, under which the Golden Raisins’ pack has been ordered to be returned from the market. The FDA has said in its notice that one such chemical has been found in the pack of Golden raisins, which threatens the life of raisins. Following this order, Nirwana Foods of New Jersey has recalled his 28 ounce packets from the market.

According to the FDA, sulfites have been found in this raisin packets, which produce severe allergies in humans. The notice states that the consumption of this chemical can also threaten life and patients may face fatal anaphylactic. Indeed, sulfite is used to remove its blackness and dirt during the refining of raisins, but according to the rules of the US government, it is mandatory to clearly mention it on the packets of golden raisins.
Call for asthma patients

According to the US Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC), this chemical also remains a matter of concern because about 6 percent of adults and 8 percent of children in the US are affected by allergic diseases. The lots of Nirwana Foods which have been called back from the market were sold in the Maharaja Super Market of New York and the Villager Mormers Market Stores in New Jersey and New York. According to CDC, consumption of sulfite can lead to the life of a sick or sensitive person. Apart from this, the common people may have problems such as swelling in the throat, difficulty in breathing, sudden decline in blood pressure or fainting, which requires immediate treatment. This is the period for asthma and asthma patients. There is a risk of life when delayed.

Why is this chemical used?
