Political Tensions in Himachal Pradesh Over Minister’s Comments

Political Tensions Escalate in Himachal Pradesh

Dharamshala

The political climate in Himachal Pradesh has intensified following comments made by State Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi regarding the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In response, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sanjay Sharma has criticized Negi’s remarks, launching a pointed attack against him.

BJP Spokesperson Critiques Negi’s Remarks

Sanjay Sharma labeled Negi’s statements about the RSS as disgraceful and intolerable, asserting that they reveal a warped and diminished perspective. He emphasized that someone who does not fully grasp the principles of his own party, Congress, is unlikely to comprehend a national organization like the RSS, which is committed to the nation’s development.

Mahatma Gandhi’s Positive View of RSS

Sharma underlined the significance of the RSS and its societal contributions, noting that Mahatma Gandhi never criticized the organization. Instead, Gandhi acknowledged the RSS’s dedication to serving the nation. He pointed out that Gandhi openly commended the RSS for its nationalism and patriotism, indicating that the organization has been actively involved in constructive efforts for the country.

Concerns Raised About Negi’s Values

Sharma further accused Negi of lacking personal values and failing to instill them within his own family, which has led to frequent public scrutiny of family matters. He claimed that Negi shows neither respect for the RSS nor for the nation’s women (Matrishakti), which he believes reflects poorly on Negi’s character.
