Serious allegations on officer: Camera hidden in wife’s room and bathroom, blackmail

A class one officer has been facing serious allegations in Pune, Maharashtra. She had installed several spy cameras inside her house including the bathroom to allegedly record her wife’s personal moments and blackmail her. The victim woman, who herself is an officer of a class one, has filed a complaint accusing her husband and seven members of her family of harassment, blackmail and privacy.

According to the police, the couple was married in 2020. After a few years, the husband allegedly suspected his wife’s character and started torturing her physically and mentally. To keep an eye on it, he allegedly installed spy cameras throughout the house. Even during work, he kept an eye on his activities. The complaint further said that the accused repeatedly threatened that if he would not bring Rs 1.5 lakh from his maternal home to pay the EMI of the car and home loan, he would leak the video online while taking a bath.

The woman has accused her mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law and other in-laws of continuously harassing mental and physical harassment after marriage and pressurizing her parents to bring money and car. The police have registered a case against the husband and seven in -laws under the relevant sections of BNS for blackmailing, domestic violence, exploitation and privacy violations. Investigators are checking the detective cameras and video footage recovered from the house.
