Kondagaon is a tribal dominated district, where people also do animal husbandry along with agriculture for livelihood, which is also a source of income of the family. Most cattle rearers perform traditional animal husbandry with limited resources, so when a serious disease occurs in the animals, lack of information and proper treatment is not done on time. As a result, there is financial loss to animal rearers with animal deaths. But now this picture is changing. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the public welfare schemes of the Central and State Government are being successfully implemented on the ground.
The state government has benefited by making plans for the development of all classes. Special priority has also been given by the government especially farmers and cattle ranchers. The result of this thinking is the mobile waiting unit, which has now become a new ray of hope in the remote Vananchal of Kondagaon. Where earlier the treatment of the sick animal was not possible on time, now the same treatment is coming to the frame of cattle ranchers. MVU Seva is operated under the LHDCP scheme and is working regularly in all the development blocks of the district. Starting on 14 September 2023, this service appears not only in statistics, but in the smile and trust of the people.
In the year 2024-25, this service has so far reached 4643 villages in the district and 56210 animal-birds have been treated by MVU, along with free medicines have been distributed to 56410 cattle rearers. MVU under the direction of Veterinary Department Reaches three villages every day and not only treats, but also gives necessary information and counseling to the cattle rearers. The mobile veterinary unit brings trust and self -sufficiency, not just treatment. Now there is no delay of treatment, nor lack of medicine between the forests of the district. This vehicle has not only made animals healthy, but has also given a new direction to the lives of parents.
