Visa applications from India to Türkiye and Azerbaijan recorded a rapid decline of 42 percent: report

New Delhi
Visa applications from India to Türkiye and Azerbaijan have recorded a rapid decline of 42 percent. This information was given in a report on Tuesday.
In the recent Indo-Pak struggle, both countries publicly expressed their support for Pakistan, due to which such response is being given by Indians.
According to data available from the visa processing platform Atalis, within 36 hours, the number of users leaving the visa application process increased by 60 percent. Atalis founder and CEO Mohanta Nahata said, “The response was intense and practical. There was no need to ask people to avoid some destinations. They proceeded based on the intuitive knowledge, information and access to options. It shows modern travel.”
He further said, “In this spirit, we also stopped all marketing efforts for Turkey and Azerbaijan, standing with India and showing solidarity with the national spirit.” Passengers coming from metros like Delhi and Mumbai recorded a 53 percent decline in applications to go to Turkey, while passengers coming from Tier 2 cities like Indore and Jaipur were stronger, which was only 20 percent lower.
The nature of passengers who rethink their plans also changed. Group visa request, including family visits, declined by nearly 49 percent, while solo and couple requests fell by 27 percent.
This shows that group travelers, who often plan and are more sensitive to political feelings, react more decisively than individual travelers. Atalis data also revealed early signs about age and intentions. Passengers between the ages of 25 to 34 were the highest likely to change their way quickly, which contributed more than 70 percent to the Mid-Prasus application decline for Türkiye.
Interestingly, the destination of women passengers was more likely to change the destination, with a tendency to resume applications for South-East Asian countries such as Vietnam or Thailand. When the trend of Türkiye and Azerbaijan decreased, the popularity of alternative destinations bounced. The data showed that applications for Vietnam, Indonesia and Egypt increased by up to 31 percent in the following days.
