Finally, after a long wait of years, Tesla, a American electric car -led American electric car, is going to enter India. On different occasions, Tesla’s cars were spotted on Indian roads several times, but now the wait for these cars is going to end. Tesla is going to start its official operation in India and the company’s first showroom will start in Mumbai.

Where will Tesla’s showroom open?

According to the report by Reuters, on July 15, Tesla’s first showroom in India will be started at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. Tesla will have a formal entry in South Asia with the onset of this showroom. India operation will start from this first showroom of Tesla spread over 4000 square feet.

The showroom work in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex is almost over. This showroom will serve as Tesla’s ‘Experience Center’ for customers, in which customers will get a chance to look and understand Tesla’s cars closely. Tesla will sell vehicles with a direct-to-customer retail model in India. But the brand will also have local partners to assist after the sale of cars. Which will provide after sales support.

Tesla had taken out job vacancy

After Mumbai, Tesla will also open the next showroom in the country’s capital Delhi. Recently, Tesla also took out Vacancy in different positions in Mumbai and Pune. In which many separate divisions including sales executive, supply chain, engineering and IT, operation business support, charging infra, AI and robotic, sales and customers support were sought for jobs in different divisions.
Tesla’s cars reached India

The previous report of Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that the first set of Tesla’s cars had reached India. Tesla’s famous electric SUV-Model Y (MODEL Y) rear-wheel drive has been sent to India from Tesla’s factory in China. The company has imported a total of 5 units of this car from Shanghai, China to India. Model Y is one of the best selling electric cars in the world and probably the company can start its journey in India with this car.

The report also reported that Tesla has also imported supercharger components, car accessories, merchandise and spare from the US, China and Netherlands. Tesla, led by Elon Musk, the world’s most rich man, is currently struggling with a huge decline in sales in Europe and China markets. This is the reason that Tesla is planning to enter the world’s third largest automobile market i.e. India as soon as possible.

What will be the price?

However, before the official launch, it is difficult to say anything about the price of Tesla’s first car. But Bloomberg’s report states that, the price of each model has been declared Rs 27.7 lakh (about 31,988 $ 3188) and they have been imposed an import duty of more than Rs 21 lakh. Now only after the launch, the price of this car will be revealed.

Will Tesla’s plant be set up in India?

At present, Tesla is not showing any interest in setting up manufacturing plants in India. Union Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy said in a statement to the media last month, “Tesla’s priority is in expanding his showroom in India. Kumaraswamy also said,” Although Tesla has shown little interest, many global brands-including Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Skoda and Kia-expressed a desire to start a manufacturing plant in India.
